Enugu, Nigeria, September 7, 2021 – RedAid Nigeria is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Godwin Asuquo as our new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). 

 

Dr. Asuquo is joining us with a lot of experience in health policy, leadership and Governance and health systems strengthening. Dr Asuquo is a leading authority in programming for TB, HIV/AIDS, and Universal health coverage.  He has a Bachelor of Science in Health Education, a master’s degree in Public Health from Emory University, a master’s in applied Population Research from the University of Exeter and a Ph.D. in Development Studies with emphasis on Public Health Leadership. He is a member of some key professional associations and has also written several scientific publications.

Dr. Asuquo previously held leadership position in USAID/Policy and ENHANSE Projects, UNFPA in Nigeria. He was previously the Chief of Party – Global Fund for Save the Children USA in Tanzania. Until his appointment, he was the Executive Director at Africa Centre for Health Leadership. He has worked to build the capacity of many NGOs and CBOs in Nigeria and abroad for effective programming in HIV&TB.

In his new role which starts effectively immediately, Dr. Asuquo will also function as the interim Country Representative for our sister organization, DAHW Nigeria, improving on our over 60 years of community health services in rendering help to the most vulnerable and reaching the hard-to-reach communities.
