German Government supports RedAid Nigeria project for the distribution of personal protective equipment to faith based hospitals in the southern parts of Nigeria.
Following the donation of personal protective equipment (PPE) to the Enugu State Government, RedAid Nigeria has successfully sought support from the German Government to distribute more protective material for frontline health workers. Three faith based hospitals which function as referral facilities for Buruli Ulcer and Leprosy will receive the desperately needed personal protective equipment. The hospitals are located in three southern states of Nigeria, namely Anambra, Ebonyi and Cross River. The German Government, represented by the German Consulate General in Lagos, has committed to financing the project with 8,000 EUR. With these funds, RedAid Nigeria has purchased face masks, latex gloves, eye googles, hand sanitizer, protective boots, isolation gowns and infrared thermometers. The materials are being handed over to the beneficiary hospitals in the beginning of August.
